Version 2026-07-15
By creating an account or using NuVoxel software, firmware, drivers, or cloud services (the “Services”), you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the Services.
NuVoxel firmware and paid features are licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to run the firmware on devices associated with your account, for your own use.
Your license is tied to your device’s identity. It is not transferable to another device or person.
Parts of our stack are open source (e.g. the components published under the Apache License 2.0 at github.com/nuvoxel/keypad). Those parts are governed by their own licenses, and nothing in these Terms limits your rights under them.
Everything else — the closed firmware modules and cloud services — is covered by these Terms.
Don’t redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publish the closed firmware or its binaries.
Don’t reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent licensing, entitlement, or update mechanisms, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits and cannot be waived (and never for the open-source parts, which you may already study freely).
Don’t use the Services to infringe others’ rights or break the law.
Firmware images delivered to your device may carry a unique identifier tied to your account and device. If a closed binary is redistributed in violation of these Terms, that identifier lets us trace the source. Leaking or redistributing licensed firmware is a breach of these Terms.
Basic features are available at no charge once you register a device. Paid (“Pro”) features may be offered as a time-limited trial and then require a paid plan.
Entitlements are validated with our service and may be updated, downgraded, or revoked — for example on non-payment, refund, chargeback, or breach of these Terms — taking effect the next time your device checks in.
You may run our firmware on hardware you own (e.g. a repurposed panel or a generic ESP32 board). You do so at your own risk. We don’t modify or lock hardware we didn’t manufacture, and we don’t warrant compatibility, safety, or fitness on hardware we didn’t sell.
You can stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your license or account for breach of these Terms. On termination, your right to run the closed firmware and paid features ends.
The Services are provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind to the maximum extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NuVoxel is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Devices and drivers report identity, capability, and telemetry data to operate and update. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and why.
We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we’ll ask you to accept the new version before you continue using the Services.
